NICE TO MEET YOU
I'm Louise Taube
After graduating from Melbourne University with a Graduate Diploma in Choreography and working in the industry for a number of years I ended up injured, exhausted and broke. Not exactly the way I expected my dream life to turn out! But with luck and a little hard work, I was working as a Pilates Teacher at the age of 30, and well on my way to becoming a teacher trainer.
Now I use what I’ve learned from my own accumulated dance injuries to help people build body confidence. I also love to empower other Pilates teachers in the Pilates method with repertoire that is meaningful and makes sense. I’ll show you how to teach, master the Pilates technique, and to modify the Pilates exercises to suit the different bodies you will be working with.

My Story
I always felt a deep connection to movement and knew I wanted to work with my body in my chosen career. So I worked hard to become a professional dancer with a career lasting 10 years. After 10 years of disciplined dancing, overseas travel, accumulating injuries, and no savings I was burnt out and disillusioned with what I thought my life should have been. I was working from project to project, and arts funding was becoming more scarce as the years went on.
I felt frustrated and helpless, but I had worked so hard and I was heartbroken to let my dreams and dancing days slip away. By chance, one of my dance peers asked if I would cover her Pilates classes while she was away on tour. She said that teaching Pilates was enjoyable and kept your body in great shape. Looking at her Pilates body I believed her. I said yes, and I started learning all I could about Pilates. I dove into Pilates and fell in love with the method. I studied with Stott, Polestar, and PITC. I loved teaching group classes and finally getting paid a regular income. I then started my own home studio, which I love as a business model. Now I empower others on their journey in their Pilates teachings and careers.

Why I Do It
Pilates is not a word I ever heard growing up, and I never imagined that I could make a career out of it once I knew what it was. I am very fortunate that my parents supported me in my obsession to become a dancer. I wanted to make my parents feel proud of me. But despite my best efforts, I still found myself unable to sustain the life of a contemporary dancer and to pay basic bills.
Once I started learning and teaching Pilates, I realised that I could enable others like me who wanted a strong Pilates education. So I made it my mission to empower Pilates teachers to better understand the Pilates technique and how to modify the technique for the very best outcomes for very different body.
